Alison Lake is an American fine art photographer with a lifelong involvement in the Arts. She received a BA in art history from the University of California at Santa Barbara, studied photography extensively, assisted in commercial studios, and then continued with her own creative projects. During travels to many countries, she has been able to combine her love of photography and of learning about the world. The collected black and white or warm tone images represent a spectrum of subjects from the built and natural environments, and reveal a preference for the unexpected and often overlooked fragments of a place. Another area of interest is still life. With this work she can explore concepts as well as study the interplay of objects and light. Her images have been exhibited throughout the USA and in Europe, have appeared in numerous publications, and are included in collections, such as the Monterey Museum of Art.
